We are home from a winter wonderland vacation in Park City, Utah. We enjoyed a snowy week with Grandma and Grandpa Beckman, Uncle Terry and Aunt Emily. Battling a stomach virus and a not-so-pleasant reaction to an antibiotic for an ear infection, Henry was a trooper en-route. We were thankful that he recovered early in the week, yet disappointed to discover his contagion was out in full force. Despite the ailments, however, we had a wonderful time. The snow was great for skiing and Aunt Emily and I even got to see Colin Farrell at opening night of the Sundance Film Festival, which was a real treat! The highlight of Henry's trip was undoubtedly the swimming pool. He splashed and yelled and kicked his way from one end to the other numerous times. He even loved dunking his head all the way under the water and floating on his back. Now that we are home, he is eating more and more big boy foods. He loves peas and broccoli and corn that he can pick up with his fingers. This morning he ate a whole NutriGrain bar and a cup of yogurt. He seems to enjoy this culinary exploration as much as we enjoy observing it. He continues to be in motion most of the time. He sits still to read books and to eat, otherwise he is on the move some way or another. We continue to marvel at this little man that eats peas out of a bowl and points at our noses. We can't believe he is really ours, but he is and we love it.
