Many Happenings

We are having such a fun week! Grandma MooMoo and Grandpa Hacker are here for the whole week and we are loving it. We are not doing much that doesn't involve playing with Henry, but that's the way we like it. They arrived on Sunday afternoon just in time for a picnic and free concert in the park to celebrate Henry's 4 month birthday - yay! Our dear friend Liz sent us the pictures from the lake, so I have posted a few here - Henry and Stella were so cute together, I can't resist. We also had a playdate with our sweet friend Nora last week and Henry enjoyed playing on Nora's playmat. Thank you Nora for sharing - let's have another playdate soon. Hope everyone is having a great week - we will post more during the week as we continue to take pictures of everything Henry does.

Pushing the yellow button

Grandma Carol and Henry found a new favorite activity last week. He loves to push the yellow button on his musical toy, then watch intently as the merry-go-round lights up and plays music. When the music stops, we cheer and he pushes the yellow button again. We do this over and over and over and over. We spent the weekend at the lake with Grandma and Grandpa Beckman and Liz, Nick and Stella Miesen. We had a wonderful time relaxing, playing with the babies, skiing, eating, hot tubbing, and just lounging in and around the water. Henry and Stella seemed to hit it off again...I think it's getting serious. I neglected to take many pictures, but Liz has posted some fun ones of the babies on their blog: www.nlfamily.blogspot.com. During the week we have been enjoying free concerts in the park. We pack picnics on Wednesdays and Sundays, lie on our blanket and listen to the music. Grandma Carol has joined us for a couple on Wednesdays, and we are excited for MooMoo and Grandpa Hacker to join us Sunday! They are coming to visit for a whole week! We can't wait. We recently put together Henry's highchair - thanks Aunt Kim and Uncle Eric - and he loves it. I think he feels like a big boy sitting in the kitchen with me. Tonight Henry went to his first county fair. He seemed to enjoy all of the animals...I think he liked the rabbits best. He really wanted a corn dog, but daddy wouldn't share. Hope everyone is having a great week!

A Week in Missouri

After spending a super fun weekend in Zionsville with MooMoo (Grandma Hacker) and Auntie Carol, Henry and I hitched a ride back to Bolivar on Sunday afternoon and Tim followed on Tuesday. The week with MooMoo and Grandpa Hacker was such a treat. Henry was a very good boy, sleeping soundly through the nights in my old crib. We got to spend lots of time with the whole family, inlcuding great grandparents. On Thursday Tim and I got to float the river with Scott, Adrienne, Jim and Sheila while Henry stayed with Grandpa and MooMoo. The sun was hot, the water cool and the river high making for a perfect float. While we were on the river, Grandpa and MooMoo were up to no good with Henry...when we got back home, Henry had a new friend - the pacifier. I will admit that it calms him when he gets tired and fussy...which doesn't happen very often, of course ;-). We had lots of fun taking rides on Grandpa's new red motorbike - the Red Rocket. He rides it to work everyday, getting 117 miles per gallon of gasoline! Auntie Adrienne, the photographer in the family (www.amaples.com) got to meet Henry for the very first time on Wednesday, and photographed him! We are so excited to see what she got, and will post the pics when we get them. Yay! Thanks, Adrienne! We had a wonderful vacation, and really enjoyed seeing everyone, and eating our way deliciously through the week. Now we are home catching up, looking forward to tomorrow.
