I miss you daddy

Hi Daddy! I miss you very much, but I am having a fun time in Bolivar playing with everyone. Cooper and Reagan came over to play and we had lots of fun. Great Grandpa Hacker and Lee came on Monday night for dinner, along with Uncle Jim and Aunt Sheila, Uncle John and Emily. MooMoo and Grandpa are being very nice. Grandpa gives me my bedtime bottle and MooMoo blows raspberries with me. Everyone wants me to crawl before I leave, but I am waiting to do it for you this weekend. I can get up on all fours and rock back and forth right now. I think by your birthday on Sunday, I'll be able to do it. Also, I can sit up all by myself, and I waved bye-bye to Grandpa Shamel today! Tomorrow I am going to go to lunch with mommy and MooMoo, and then we are all going to have pizza at Grandpa and Grandma Shamel's house. So -that's what I've been up to since I saw you on Sunday. I am excited to see you on Thursday. I'm going to give you big hugs.

I love you,

Henry

A lazy Thursday afternoon

When I open the door to Henry's room to get him from his nap, his little face greets me, peeking up over the bumper. He props himself up on his arms, and waits for me to come through the door. It is the cutest thing - I love it. And, thanks Rob and Tamie for the box blocks - Henry loves them!

Friends, Football, Food and Fun

We had a super relaxing weekend with our dear friends Liz and Branton visiting from Boston. The air was crisp and the sky blue and bright. We enjoyed lazy mornings with big breakfasts, an afternoon walk along the brick mainstreet, a Saturday night BBQ, lots of football and lots of laughs. Henry thought Liz was hilarious and warmed up to Branton as if they were old friends. We really enjoyed their visit, and hope to play again soon. Henry, still interested in crawling, can get himself up on all fours, but ends up scooting backward most of the time watching in despair as his toys get farther and farther away. He keeps trying though. He'll get it one of these days. We tried prunes for breakfast this morning. I will spare you the details, but we will not be enjoying prunes for breakfast anymore. Or dinner. Hope everyone has a terrific week!!

Fall Fun

We are loving the change in weather around here. We have resumed our walks, and are enjoying dinner outside again. Henry continues to love eating solid foods. He has tried peas, green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, rice and oatmeal. Tomorrow we will introduce fruit! We are all excited about that. We had some very special visitors this week - Sarah and Scotty! We loved having them, and look forward to their next visit. Yesterday we played at the park with Shylo, Porter and Nora. Henry tried the swings for the very first time and loved them! He was a very big boy swinging by himself. We are looking forward to visiting the park often.

Labor Day at the Lake...

We spent a super fun weekend at the lake with Grandpa Hacker, MooMoo, Uncle John and Emily. Grandpa and Grandma Beckman were so kind to let us stay at their house while they were out of town. We were happy to see them arrive home Sunday night, though, and spend Monday with us. On Monday, Henry got to meet Wyatt Glassmeyer and Drew Franta. They are a little younger than Henry, but will be great friends as they grow up. On Saturday morning we all witnessed Henry eat his first bowl of rice cereal! It was very exciting, and he loved it! On Sunday night he tried peas, and though they took a little getting used to, he enjoys them now. We all laughed as he grimmaced and spit them out after the first few bites. He gets very excited when the spoon approaches his mouth, kicking his legs and waving his arms. He loves to eat - another reason he fits perfectly in our family. And, eating will become easier and easier for him because he now has two bottom teeth and is really working on the top two. We expect to see them appear any day now. He continues to suck his fingers and toes, or anything else he can find. He is so close to sitting up on his own, and is itching to crawl. The next couple of weeks could be big ones around here. Otherwise, we continue to enjoy every minute with him. Happy September!
