Holiday Fun!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Beckman for such a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. We had such a fun time playing with trains and legos, visiting the train museum and playing at the park.

This week was a big week for Henry and Sam. Henry got a much needed haircut, and Sam moved to his crib and seems to love it...at night. He'd rather sleep in his swing during the day, but at night does very well in his own room. Saturday was the Christmas Parade on Main Street. Henry and I braved the 25 degree chill and cheered as trolleys, trains, fire engines, race cars and Santa paraded before us. This morning, after picking out the perfect Christmas Tree, we got to ride on the trolley, making Henry's weekend. He named the trolley Lucy, and has talked about it all day.

So...our house is dripping with lights, our tree adorned with colorful fun and our stockings hung...we are ready. Tonight, Henry picked up all his toys, told us about it, then suggested we "call Santa to tell him..." Perhaps we've used the "Santa is watching" line one too many times?

Here's to a beautiful Holiday Season!

Cousins!

What a fun couple of weeks we've had with our cousins! Henry and Sam got to be with both cousins, Jack and Koleton, in the same week. Sam enjoyed his first road trip to Missouri to celebrate Uncle John and Aunt Kiley's wedding, and to meet cousin Jack. Both boys were perfect travelers...we were pleasantly surprised at how easy the trip was with two little boys.

And...we were so happy to welcome Aunt Kim and Koleton here for the weekend. They traveled all the way from Denver to meet Sam. Unfortunately, our camera was MIA most of their visit, so we have very few pictures documenting the fun that was had by all. Thanks for coming guys!

So, all in all we are great. Henry continues to build trains with whatever he can find...blocks, laundry baskets, plastic cups...anything. And, Thomas the Train now dines with us at the dinner table sitting in his own seat, enjoyng a meal prepared by Henry. He is also bathed on occasion, dressed for school and can sometimes be found in "time-out." Thomas is a member of our family, and we are not to forget it. I was scolded this morning because I did not put enough toothpaste on Thomas's toothbrush, and had to "say I was sorry" to Thomas for forgetting his Tylenol. So, we are a happy family of five these days...every family needs a tank engine to spice things up.

Sam is big and happy. Last week he weighed in at 13.2 pounds and was 24 1/4 inches long...the 80th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. He is truly the happiest, most easy going baby...he just smiles and we melt over and over again.

Many thanks we give for all that we have...Happy Thanksgiving.

Fall Fun

From building trains out of anything we can find, to a fun visit from our Boose friends, to Engineer, Pumpkin, and Scarecrow costumes, to family fun at the pumpkin patch, we've been having good times this fall. Sam is smiling, Henry is choo-chooing and Tim and I are amazed each day by our little boys.

Four Generations...

What a wonderful treat we had a couple of weekends ago when Papa brought Grandma Flossie to visit. It was her first visit to our house and we had the best time. Henry enjoyed showing her all of his toys, his big boy room, his classroom at school and his park. She even got to experience our beloved Pancake House...our favorite Sunday morning outing. Thanks Grandma Flossie for making the trip!

Thanks also to the Miesens for stopping in to meet Sam. Henry is still talking about Stella and Charlie. It was great to see you!

And...Sam just weighed in at just over 11 lbs. at his one month appt. He is 23 inches long, which puts him in the 90th percentile for weight and the 95th for height. Like his brother, it seems Sam is going to be a big'n.

We're looking forward to a weekend of fall fun at the pumpkin patch...stay tuned for more...
